This was an exploration in the performance of a Passive House form that engages the landscape and construction method that uses no petroleum-based foams. This resulted in a simple building form that maximizes sun exposure and very thick denim insulation. The building celebrates the importance of the mechanical system and the heat recovery ventilator, and so the ductwork is left exposed. Custom brackets integrated into the tension rods of the roof truss hold the duct runs in the vaulted living spaces.
